The vineyard: the grapes come from 3 different vineyards:one in Monforte d’Alba (our main vineyard Vigna Chiesa) and two vineyards situated in Grinzane Cavour.

The variety: The Nebbiolo is the king of the Langhe, the one with a world wide fame for producing wines to last and provide multiple pleasures with age. It’s our love and our passion, the variety that permits to «read and translate» the different terroirs of the Langhe better than the rest.

The wine: we tried to master an elegant, fruity and «friendly» Nebbiolo, thouroughly selecting the most floral, fine and less extracrtive lots together with Franco Bernabei, our consulting oenologist of international fame. So that’s how this wine was born, with an utmost expression of the varietal character»; based cuisine.

The name: The hedgehog («riccio» in Italian) is our symbol and the name of the grape comes from ‘fog’ («nebbia»). «Hedgehog in the Fog» («Riccio in Nebbia») is a popular animated film from the mid 1970s.
