The vintage: the 2014 is said to be one of the most complicated harvests in Langhe’s recent history. Rainy and hot spring, rainy and cold summer, only the dry and sunny September weather saved the grapes and permitted us to make decent wines at the needed high level.

The wine: the Barbaresco denomination set of rules (the disciplinare) requires that the wine is made, aged and certified within the limits of the DOCG. Our winery is in the Barolo zone, so in order to produce Barbaresco we have to cooperate with a local winery. With the years we became friends with the winery owners that «host» every single Barbaresco of ours for 2 years. At a certain point we decided to release a wine together meticulously selecting the most elegant and fragrant lots of Barbaresco we both have. Thus the Pistìn was born.

The name: in Piedmontese language “pistìn” means a meticulous person tending to be precise and rightful in everything he/she does or, as an alternative, a well dressed and very elegant dandy.

The label: represents the total territory of the Barbaresco DOCG, a hand drawn map in La Biòca style.
